Tooth Extraction: Bangalore Residents Feel the Financial Pain

In Bangalore, India, dental care is an expensive luxury that many residents cannot afford. With the cost of a tooth extraction ranging from 500 to 3000 Indian rupees (approximately 7 to 40 USD), many Bangalore residents are feeling the financial pain of this necessary procedure.

Tooth extraction is often the only solution for those suffering from cavities, impacted teeth, and other dental problems. However, the cost is often prohibitively high for many residents of Bangalore. In fact, a recent survey revealed that a staggering 77% of Bangalore residents cannot afford to pay for a basic tooth extraction.

The financial burden of tooth extraction is not limited to Bangalore. In India, dental care is expensive, and the cost of a tooth extraction is often higher than the daily wages of many citizens. This financial burden can be particularly difficult for low-income families who have already stretched their resources to the limit.

The high cost of tooth extraction is not the only problem. Bangalore residents also face the challenge of finding a good dentist. In the city, there are fewer qualified dentists than there are patients in need of dental care. This means that residents must often wait weeks for an appointment, and even then, there is no guarantee that the dentist will be able to perform the procedure.

To help alleviate the financial burden of tooth extraction, many Bangalore residents have turned to government-funded dental clinics. These clinics offer free or low-cost dental care, including tooth extractions. However, these clinics are often overcrowded and understaffed, leading to long waits for appointments.

The high cost of tooth extraction in Bangalore is a serious problem. Without access to affordable dental care, many residents of the city are forced to endure the pain of cavities, impacted teeth, and other painful dental problems. In order to ensure that all Bangalore residents have access to the dental care they need, the government must take steps to make tooth extraction more affordable and accessible.
